Job Summary

St. Louis Catholic Academy, a K-8 Catholic elementary school located in St. Louis, MO, seeks applicants for the role of 5th Grade Primary Teacher to join our primary team. This role involves serving as the homeroom teacher for 5th grade while also teaching mathematics in a rotational system for students in grades 3-5. The ideal candidate will be passionate about math instruction, committed to fostering academic excellence, and dedicated to integrating faith-based values into daily lessons and interactions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the 5th-grade homeroom teacher while specializing in math instruction for grades 3-5.
  • Plan and implement engaging, student-centered math lessons that align with curriculum standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students across multiple grade levels.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and effective instructional strategies.
  • Foster a positive, faith-based learning environment that supports students’ academic and moral development.

  • Commitment to becoming an expert in elementary education.

  • Commitment to using data to inform teaching and learning.

  • Willingness to continue learning and growing as an educator.

  • Earned a Bachelor’s Degree or higher.

  • Missouri state certification; may be working towards certification.

  • Demonstrated commitment to innovation and social justice.

Preferred

  • At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in a Catholic school.

  • Experience educating or collaborating with elementary school students.

  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting assessment data for continuous student learning.

  • Knowledge and capability with technologies in education.

  • Commitment to and experience partnering with families.

  • Flexibility and resiliency.

  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.

Salary and Starting Date

Salary will be commensurate with experience and education and additional compensation for professional development. The starting date is August 1, 2025.
