Job Summary
St. Gabriel the Archangel School, a vibrant Catholic school within the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking a dedicated and passionate 6th Grade Teacher for the [2025–2026] school year. The ideal candidate will be a faith-filled educator who fosters academic excellence, promotes a strong classroom community, and integrates Catholic values into daily instruction. This position includes teaching core subjects with a focus on collaboration, differentiated instruction, and whole-child development in a supportive and faith-based learning environment.
Job Responsibilities

Plan and implement engaging, standards-based instruction.

Create a faith-filled classroom environment that reflects the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture that supports the academic, social, and spiritual development of each student.

Use data to assess student learning and adjust instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.

Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and staff to support school-wide initiatives and student success.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and required school and Archdiocesan events.

Maintain accurate and timely records including grades, attendance, and lesson plans.

Uphold and model the mission, philosophy, and values of St. Gabriel the Archangel School and the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Valid Missouri teaching certification appropriate for elementary/middle school level.

Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred.

Previous teaching experience, especially in a Catholic school setting, is preferred.

Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster a positive learning environment.

Proficiency with educational technology and willingness to integrate it into instruction.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and a willingness to incorporate the teachings of the Catholic faith into instruction.
