Job Summary

St. Gabriel the Archangel School, a vibrant Catholic school within the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking a dedicated and passionate 6th Grade Teacher for the [2025–2026] school year. The ideal candidate will be a faith-filled educator who fosters academic excellence, promotes a strong classroom community, and integrates Catholic values into daily instruction. This position includes teaching core subjects with a focus on collaboration, differentiated instruction, and whole-child development in a supportive and faith-based learning environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, standards-based instruction.

• Create a faith-filled classroom environment that reflects the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.

• Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture that supports the academic, social, and spiritual development of each student.

• Use data to assess student learning and adjust instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.

• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.

• Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and staff to support school-wide initiatives and student success.

• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and required school and Archdiocesan events.

• Maintain accurate and timely records including grades, attendance, and lesson plans.

• Uphold and model the mission, philosophy, and values of St. Gabriel the Archangel School and the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

• Valid Missouri teaching certification appropriate for elementary/middle school level.

• Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred.

• Previous teaching experience, especially in a Catholic school setting, is preferred.

• Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster a positive learning environment.

• Proficiency with educational technology and willingness to integrate it into instruction.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and a willingness to incorporate the teachings of the Catholic faith into instruction.
