Job Summary

 

Job Position: ASL Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: Main Office – St. Louis, MO
Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours/week (typically within 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m)

Hourly Rate: $20 - $25/ hour

 

We are seeking a dedicated Part Time - ASL Administrative Assistant to support our ASL Department. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to balance multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This role plays an important part in supporting mentorship programs, continuing education, and daily departmental operations.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Manage scheduling for interpreting assignments, mentorship program meetings, and CEU training sessions.
  • Provide excellent customer service by fielding phone calls and assisting visitors.
  • Draft, send, and track emails regarding Continuing Education Unit (CEU) certificates.
  • Print, organize, and maintain CEU-related files.
  • Process mentorship applications, create assignments, and monitor compliance requirements for mentees.
  • Schedule and coordinate mentor/mentee meetings.
  • Assist with organizing and supporting online CEU courses.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support ASL operations.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior administrative or office support experience.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal or signed).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and asking questions when clarification is needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf Culture.
  • Experience in scheduling, event coordination, or educational program support.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and problem-solve in a dynamic environment.

 

Pre-Employment Screening 

 

All candidates receiving an employment offer must submit a pre-employment screening. The screenings will include criminal background check and other background checks (as needed), Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, an employment and education or licensure/certification verification, and Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination.
