Job Summary

St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities, is hiring for the position of Accountant I to join our Finance Department. The accountant is a member of the Finance team and will assist in all aspects of the department functions at St. Patrick Center. The accountant will assist with and prepare invoices, function as a back-up with team in finance department, collect amounts due, facilitate vendor invoice payments, perform other accounting tasks, and assist with grant administration. This position works Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.  

Overview & Responsibilities

  • Assist other roles in the Finance department with copying, scanning and preparing support for billing. 
  • Learn other roles in the Finance department to be a backup when needed. 
  • Prepare monthly billings to federal, state, local and private entities. 
  • Collecting amounts due from customers 
  • Organizing, preparing, and coding vendor invoices to be paid and gathering invoices to send to accounts payable. 
  • Reconciliation of grant expenditures to General Ledger and SEFA report 
  • Prepare schedules and assist team with internal, governmental, and outside auditor requests. 
  • Gather and organize time and preparation of weekly and semi-monthly reports to Archdiocese. 
  • Research and answer problems/issues/questions as needed. •
  • Assist with monthly/annual closing and yearly budget process. 
  • Attend Program Operations grant kick-off meetings, conduct monthly grant financial review meetings with program. 
  • managers for assigned grants and prepare grant budgets and reports necessary for grant administration. 
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of Highschool diploma or GED required.
  • Four-year degree from Accredited College or University in Accounting preferred
  • Relevant experience in accounting department required.

Pre-Employment Screening
