Job Summary
The Administrator of Religious Education is responsible for the overall vision, leadership, and administration of the parish’s faith formation programs for children, youth, and adults. This role ensures that all catechetical initiatives are rooted in Catholic teaching, foster lifelong discipleship, and align with the pastoral mission of the parish. The Administrator oversees sacramental preparation, curriculum development, and community-building efforts that nurture a vibrant Catholic faith.
Job Responsibilities

Establish a long-term vision for religious education and faith formation that supports the mission of the parish and aligns with diocesan priorities.

Develop goals, benchmarks, and initiatives that foster continuous spiritual growth for children, youth, and adults.

Stay current with best practices and resources in catechesis, integrating them into parish life.

Create pathways for parishioners of all ages to grow in prayer, knowledge of the faith, and active discipleship.

Provide oversight of sacramental formation programs and ensure consistency with Church teaching and diocesan requirements.

Offer ongoing training and spiritual formation opportunities for catechists, ministry leaders, and volunteers.

Build strong partnerships with families, encouraging them as the primary faith formators of their children.

Foster collaboration across parish ministries, ensuring religious education is integrated into the broader life of the parish.

Organize parish-wide faith formation events, workshops, and service opportunities that build community and witness to the Gospel.

Oversee program planning, scheduling, and communication for all formation activities.

Manage resources, budgets, and materials needed for catechetical programs.

Ensure compliance with diocesan Safe Environment policies and maintain accurate program records.
Job Requirements

Experience in Catholic catechesis, religious education, or parish ministry leadership.

Strong knowledge of Catholic theology, catechetical principles, and sacramental preparation.

Proven organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Ability to engage with children, youth, adults, and families of diverse backgrounds.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and parish database systems.

Completion of diocesan Safe Environment training (e.g., VIRTUS) and successful background check.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet parish needs.
