Job Summary
The Extended Care Aide provides supervision and support to students enrolled in the before- and/or after-school extended care program. The aide ensures a safe, nurturing, and structured environment while engaging students in age-appropriate activities, assisting with homework, and promoting respectful behavior in line with the mission and values of the school.

Supervise students in the extended care program during before- and/or after-school hours.

Assist in organizing and leading indoor and outdoor activities, games, crafts, and quiet time.

Provide a safe and positive environment by managing student behavior according to school policies.

Monitor and assist students with homework, snacks, and personal needs as appropriate.

Maintain accurate sign-in/sign-out procedures and attendance records.

Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, parents, and school staff.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the extended care space.

Assist in setting up and cleaning up daily activities and snacks.

Follow safety, emergency, and health procedures at all times.

Report incidents, injuries, or disciplinary issues to the Extended Care Coordinator or School Administration.
Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework in education or child development preferred.

Experience working with children in a school, daycare, or camp setting.

Ability to supervise and engage groups of children ages.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Must be dependable, patient, and energetic.

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
