Job Title: Part‑Time Teacher Aide
Location: St. Ann Catholic Church – Normandy, MO

 

Position Summary

St. Ann Catholic Church is seeking a responsible and supportive Part‑Time Teacher Aide to assist classroom teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for students. This position supports daily classroom activities, helps reinforce instructional goals, and contributes to the overall mission of Catholic education. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates patience and professionalism, and collaborates effectively with teachers and staff.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and routines.
  • Support students during lessons, small‑group work, and independent tasks.
  • Help maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Provide supervision during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non‑instructional times as assigned.
  • Prepare classroom materials, supplies, and learning resources as directed by the teacher.
  • Offer individualized support to students who need additional guidance or encouragement.
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
  • Uphold school policies, safety procedures, and expectations for student behavior.
  • Contribute to a positive school culture that reflects the values of St. Ann Catholic Church and School.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or parish setting preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions, support instructional goals, and work collaboratively with teachers.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Patience, dependability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
  • Willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Must meet Archdiocesan compliance requirements, including Safe Environment training.

The Teacher Aide is expected to maintain professionalism and contribute positively to the parish school community.
