Job Summary
Christ the King School, a faith-centered community within the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking a creative, passionate, and faith-filled Art & Drama Teacher to join our team. This role will focus on nurturing students’ appreciation for the visual and performing arts while fostering creativity, confidence, and artistic skills in alignment with Catholic values. The teacher will provide weekly instruction in art and drama to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade in a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Job Responsibilities

Plan and deliver weekly art and drama instruction for K–5 students.

Create a welcoming, student-centered classroom that encourages creative exploration and artistic expression.

Develop age-appropriate lessons that include art history, artistic techniques, dramatic performance, and hands-on activities.

Introduce students to a variety of art media, tools, and performance styles.

Display student artwork throughout the school and support visual and performing arts events or school-wide projects.

Organize student showcases, exhibits, or small performances that highlight student growth in the arts.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate art and drama into cross-curricular learning where appropriate.

Uphold and promote the mission, vision, and Catholic identity of Christ the King School.

Maintain classroom organization, safety, and respectful behavior expectations.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Job Requirements

Teaching experience with elementary-aged students (required)

Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Theater, Elementary Education, or a related field (preferred)

Ability to manage and engage a classroom with varying age and skill levels

Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required

Passion for the arts and commitment to fostering creativity in a faith-based educational setting
