Job Summary
A part-time position: 7-10 hours weekly at $20 hourly. The administrative assistant provides direct support to the priorities and goals of the Office of Ecumenical & Interreligious Affairs regarding the Laudato Si Commission.
Major areas of responsibilities include assisting in the managing and promoting Laudato Si Commission programing, financial management of Laudato Si Commission initiatives, organizing and facilitating Laudato Si Commission meetings, collaborating with other Archdiocesan agencies to facilitate the work of the Laudato Si Commission, establishing ongoing partnerships between the Laudato Si Commission and ecumenical/interfaith communities.
The position requires excellent communications, multitasking and organizational skills, strong technology and social media skills. The position requires ability to work evening and weekend hours
Job Responsibilities
Managing and Promoting Laudato Si Commission Programing:
· Coordinate registration and communications for all Laudato Si Commission programs (e.g. Laudato Si Speakers Series, Creation Care Summit etc…)
· Serve as primary and direct contact for the Laudato Si Commission
· Collaborate with other Catholic agencies and parishes for these programs (e.g. Office of Communications, Office of Sacred Worship etc…)
· Assist in the development of assessment and evaluation tools for all programs.
· Ensure that all archdiocesan requirements are met when implementing parish events and programs.
Organize and Facilitate Laudato Si Commission Meetings & Membership:
· Maintain the membership and activities of the Laudato Si Commission
· Maintain an organized list of committee and sub-committee members
· Organize Laudato Si Commission meetings with clear aims and agendas
· Communicate with commission members about meeting times and key follow up
Financial Management of Laudato Si Commission initiatives:
· Coordinate the Laudato Si Micro Grant program
· Completely monthly P-card allocations
· Collaborate with the assigned accountant to manage Laudato Si Commission finances
· Ensure all best practices are followed in accounting and granting funds
Collaborate with Ecumenical/Interfaith Communities:
· Connect Laudato Si initiatives to key partnerships in the Interfaith Community (Interfaith Partnership of St. Louis, Jewish, Muslim & Hindu communities etc…)
· Connect Laudato Si initiatives to key partnership in the Ecumenical Community (Mainline Protestant, Evangelical, Orthodox Christian communities etc…)
· Proactively network in interfaith and secular settings to better integrate this work into the Office of Ecumenical & Interreligious Affairs
Job Requirements
Practicing Catholic with a commitment to Catholic teaching on care for the environment
· Commitment to working with ecumenical & interfaith partners collaboratively
· Experience in Catholic ministry
· Strong project management skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks successfully.
· Strong technical/computer and social media skills.
· Bachelor’s degree and/or strong work experience in Catholic ministry or related fields.
