Job Summary:

The Athletic Director at Cardinal Ritter College Prep is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of the school’s interscholastic athletic program. The Athletic Director ensures that athletic activities support the school's mission, promote student development, and reflect the values of Catholic education. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to successfully manage a comprehensive athletic program in compliance with school, Archdiocesan, and MSHSAA policies.

Job Responsibilities

Oversee all interscholastic athletics at Cardinal Ritter College Prep, ensuring alignment with school and Archdiocesan values.

Leadership & Administration

  • Manage athletic programs and coach hiring/evaluation

  • Communicate policies to coaches and staff

Compliance & Scheduling

  • Ensure eligibility, health, insurance, and travel compliance

  • Manage budget and approve schedules

  • Represent school at athletic meetings

Event Operations & Safety

  • Coordinate event logistics and crowd control

  • Maintain equipment, facilities, and plan upgrades

Community & Growth

  • Gather feedback from stakeholders

  • Build alumni relations and brand program

  • Develop feeder school partnerships

  • Secure sponsorships and manage Booster Club

  • Support new sports programs

  • Respond promptly to inquiries

Other Duties

  • Perform tasks assigned by leadership

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Education preferred.

  • At least three years of classroom teaching experience preferred.

  • Teacher certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty, and staff in alignment with Catholic values.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and school-related computer software.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to write professional correspondence and generate reports.

  • Evidence of initiative and effective leadership in an academic or athletic setting.
