Job Summary
Position Title: Bulletin Editor
Reports To: Business Manager and Pastor
Position Type: Part-Time
Location: St. Monica Church, Creve Coeur, MO
Position Summary:
The Bulletin Editor is responsible for preparing, editing, and distributing the weekly church bulletin and any special service bulletins (e.g., holidays, funerals). This role ensures that all content is accurate, timely, and aligned with the church's messaging and mission. The editor works closely with pastoral staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers to gather announcements and relevant information.
Job Responsibilities
- Compile and format content for weekly church bulletins including announcements, scripture readings, prayer requests, prayer requests, and upcoming event details.
- Coordinate with church staff and ministry leaders to ensure all relevant information is included and accurate.
- Proofread and edit text for grammar, clarity, and tone consistent with church values.
- Design layout and graphics (if applicable) to make bulletins visually appealing and easy to read.
- Ensure bulletins are printed and distributed digitally on time each week.
- Maintain a bulletin content calendar to track upcoming events and recurring announcements.
- Update and adapt bulletins for special services (e.g., Christmas, Easter, baptisms).
- Archive bulletins for church records and historical reference by sending yearly to get bound.
- Support smooth operations of the front office through other related tasks as delegated.
Job Requirements
- Strong written communication and editing skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with publishing or word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Publisher, Canva, or Adobe InDesign).
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple content sources.
- Experience in a church or nonprofit communications role is a plus.
- Familiarity with the church calendar, Christian terminology, and respectful tone for religious communication.

- Discreet with sensitive information and prayer requests.
- Creative eye for layout and presentation.
