Job Summary
The Cafeteria Worker supports the mission and values of [School Name], a Catholic educational community, by providing nutritious and appealing meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This position assists in food preparation, serving, cleanup, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and diocesan food service standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to planned menus and portion guidelines.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down serving lines and dining areas.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation in compliance with local health regulations.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in kitchen, dining, and storage areas.
- Monitor food and supply inventory and notify the Cafeteria Manager of shortages.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Follow established safety and emergency procedures.
- Interact respectfully and courteously with students, staff, and visitors, reflecting the Catholic values and mission of the school.
- Support a positive dining atmosphere that encourages good manners, responsibility, and community.
- Participate in staff meetings and required training sessions.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Prior experience in food service or cafeteria work (preferred).
- Knowledge of basic food preparation, sanitation, and safety practices.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education.
