Working collaboratively with individuals, businesses, government and other service providers, St. Patrick Center will end chronic homelessness in the St. Louis region through Housing First, an evidence-based practice that tells us to remove barriers, do intake and assessment early, move people into housing and offer them support to achieve their goals.
Position Summary
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, through our service line of St. Patrick Center, is hiring Cook to join our team at Rosati Place. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing and providing nutritious and delicious meals for clients participating in the Rosati Integrated Treatment Services program. As a Cook, you will not only focus on culinary excellence but also play a crucial part in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all meals meet state and federal regulations, maintaining a well-organized kitchen, and ordering necessary supplies to support meal preparation. The core working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Overview and Responsibilities
• Planning of weekly menus in coordination with supplies
• Proper use of time, to plan and organize client meals.
• Preparation of meals for up to 15 clients, 3 times per day
• Store food and supplies in appropriate manner.
• Maintain requirements by food inspector for residential/commercial kitchen.
• Keep kitchen and entire area clean and in compliance with food inspector requirements.
• Maintain kitchen supplies and order supplies as needed.
• Complete food orders appropriately
• Communicate with staff appropriately to coordinate client’s meals.
• Adhere to appropriate mealtimes for clients.
• Responsible for cleanliness of additional food storage areas and upkeep
• Observe clients eating to ensure no other needs of clients.
• Oversee the completion of client chore, involving the kitchen.
• Ensure appropriate snacks are purchased and provided to clients regularly.
• Document proper inventory of food, in coordination with ordering for cost saving measures.
• Treat all staff and clients with respect.
• Develop a positive and therapeutic work environment with clients.
• Perform all miscellaneous tasks as required or needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experiencing cooking and working in kitchen
• Serve Safe or ability to become certified.
• Current proof of First Aid training and CPR
• Current TB test within 30 days of hire
• Basic Microsoft Office skills, required (Word, Outlook)
