St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Parish is seeking a passionate, faith-filled Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) to serve as a key member of the administrative team supporting both the parish and school communities. The CRE will be responsible for leading and coordinating faith formation programs for students, families, and staff, while fostering a vibrant Catholic identity rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and Catholic Social Teaching.

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate faith formation for students, faculty, and staff, including regular curriculum review and implementation.

  • Plan, organize, and execute sacramental preparation programs, sacramental services, and school/parish Masses for children.

  • Create and implement a family faith formation program for both parish and school families.

  • Plan and lead retreats for students, faculty, and staff that support spiritual growth and community.

  • Coordinate and encourage student participation in service opportunities as part of their faith development.

  • Strengthen the connection between the school and parish through collaborative faith-based initiatives.

  • Oversee weekly school Masses, monthly class Masses, and additional prayer services and religious events.

  • Coordinate religious education programs for parish families with children attending public schools.

  • Oversee the implementation of Theology of the Body curriculum in the parish day school.

Job Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic committed to the mission of Catholic education and parish life.

  • Bachelor’s degree in theology, catechesis, religious studies, or education required.

  • Catechetical Leader Certification, or willingness to attain it, is required.

  • Experience or training in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and/or Theology of the Body is a plus.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for working with children, families, and staff in a diverse urban parish setting.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a leadership team.
