Job Summary
The Marriage & Family Life Coordinator, working under the general direction of the Program Manager for the Office of Marriage & Family Life, provides support in coordinating and executing key activities of the office including, co-development of Marriage & Family Life initiatives, programs, and events, communication and correspondence for Marriage Preparation and Enrichment resources. Additionally, the Coordinator handles social media communications, website updates, graphic design, and coordinates event activities that enrich the work of the Office's parish-support and evangelizing mission.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists in the development and promotion of Jubilant Marriages Initiatives, including preparation of monthly Clergy and Parishioner Toolkits, semi-annual Jubilant Marriages Couples’ Retreats, Jubilee Mass, World Marriage Day Mass, etc. Gathers information, produces graphic content with Canva, publishes material through Capacity to the Marriage and Family websites.
- Assists the Program Manager in the communications and preparation of resources for Marriage Preparation classes. This activity includes coordinating the logistical needs, completing class registrations, printing class materials including mass missalette, confirming addresses and mailing resources or class set-up for marriage preparation classes, preparing class certificates, and closing class registration on the website.
- Helps the Program Manager to provide hospitality for Office of Marriage & Family Life programs, primarily the twice-monthly Marriage Preparation classes and occasional marriage enrichment retreats held at the Cardinal Rigali Center to include set-up of workbooks, materials, audio video placement, signage, and food for the events. On occasion, serves as sacristan and server for Sunday Marriage Preparation class Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the St. Vincent de Paul Chapel at the Cardinal Rigali Center. On those occasions, returning remaining supplies to storage from the Marriage Preparation class will be necessary.
- Responds to inquiries (phone calls, emails, etc.) regarding marriage preparation, conferences, and other activities of the office.
- Helps Program Manager with correspondence to follow-up after marriage preparation class, monthly anniversaries congratulatory and evangelization messages, payment reminders, and other routine messages as required.
- Manage email and social media communications for the Office of Marriage & Family Life updating content and notifying management of correspondence for management’s reply.

Job Requirements
- Must be a practicing Catholic with knowledge of the Catholic Church, its structures, and how it functions, familiarity with its institutions, parishes.
- Competence with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- An associate’s degree or other comparable experience.
- Two years prior experience with project development and event planning.
Skills & Attitudes Required for Success in Job
- Occasional evening and weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday) availability is required.
- Highly detail oriented.
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
- Willingness to collaborate with other offices at the discretion of the Office of Marriage & Family Life manager.
Relationships Requirements
Frequent interaction with laity, priests, parish leaders, peers in department, and curia staff, also occasional activity with Marriage Preparation facilitators, event participants, and event venue staff.
