Job Summary
The mission of the Office of Youth Ministry is to equip leaders with the necessary tools, training, formation and events in order that all young people hear the Gospel message and be empowered to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our parishes and in our world.
The Coordinator of Parish Outreach is a key member of the Office of Youth Ministry (OYM) team, collaborating closely with fellow staff to support youth ministry efforts across the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Together, the OYM team equips priests, youth ministers, and parish leaders with the tools, training, formation, and resources needed to effectively share the Gospel and empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. As the team leader for vicariate relations, this position dedicates approximately three days a week to on-site work in vicariate offices or parishes, building collaborative relationships, improving communication, assessing needs, and offering direct support. Additionally, the Coordinator of Parish Outreach helps plan and execute OYM events, taking a lead role in select gatherings, retreats, and training opportunities that further the mission of the OYM. Start date for this position will be August 1, 2025.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Support & Consultation:
Assess the needs of vicariates and parishes through direct relationship-building with pastors, priests, youth ministers, and parish leaders. Offer practical guidance and resources to enhance youth ministry programs.
Hiring & Onboarding:
Assist parishes in identifying, hiring, onboarding, and forming youth ministry staff who are committed to the mission of the Church and equipped to serve young people effectively.
Communication & Outreach:
Manage strategic communication, including newsletters, social media, and ministry databases, to keep leaders informed of upcoming events, formation opportunities, and available resources.
Training & Formation:
Plan and facilitate retreats, trainings, and leader gatherings both independently and in partnership with the Office of Youth Ministry (OYM). Promote collaboration among youth ministry teams and foster continued formation.
Event & Resource Development:
Work closely with the OYM team to design and execute large- and small-scale events such as Steubenville, Summit, and Training Day. Contribute to the development of customized tools and resources for parish and vicariate needs.
Project Management:
Lead and collaborate on project teams that create and implement ministry programs. Ensure alignment with pastoral priorities and provide effective support to leaders and young people.
Vicariate Liaison:
Act as a bridge between vicariate offices and the OYM. Maintain strong working relationships and ensure that tools, training, and events reflect the Vicar’s strategic goals and support local ministry initiatives.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Theology, Youth Ministry, Event Planning, or Education.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in parish youth ministry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC skills.

Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, especially in planning and executing events with the Office of Youth Ministry (OYM).
