Job Summary

The Archdiocese of Saint Louis is seeking a talented and mission-driven Digital Content and Print Design Specialist to join our Communications team. This role is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and producing visually engaging and mission-aligned content across digital and print platforms. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller with strong design skills, capable of developing compelling graphics, layouts, and content that effectively support the Archdiocese’s evangelization and communication efforts.

The Specialist will collaborate with various internal departments and external partners to maintain a consistent visual identity across all media, while helping to amplify the mission of the Catholic Church in St. Louis.

Job Responsibilities

Design & Production

  • Develop and design high-quality visual content for digital platforms (websites, social media, email campaigns, video thumbnails, presentations) and print materials (brochures, posters, newsletters, signage, annual reports).

  • Ensure brand consistency across all visual materials in accordance with Archdiocesan style and messaging guidelines.

  • Design templates and assets that can be reused by departments and parishes throughout the Archdiocese.

Digital Content Creation

  • Assist in the creation of visual content for social media and web platforms to increase engagement and enhance storytelling.

  • Edit and optimize images and graphics for web use, ensuring fast load times and accessibility compliance.

  • Support basic video editing, motion graphics, and other multimedia content as needed.

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with the Communications team, clergy, ministries, and Catholic schools to understand project needs and deliver effective solutions.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.

  • Coordinate with printers and vendors for production of print materials, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.

Brand & Mission Alignment

  • Translate the mission, vision, and values of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis into meaningful visual experiences.

  • Support Catholic identity and messaging in all designs and content, ensuring appropriateness and respect for Church teachings.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience in graphic and digital design; experience working in a faith-based or nonprofit setting is a plus.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).

  • Experience with Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).

  • Knowledge of print production processes and file preparation.

  • Strong visual storytelling and design skills with a keen eye for detail and layout.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Commitment to upholding and promoting Catholic values and teachings through visual communications.

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church is strongly preferred.
