Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary
The Director of Admissions is responsible for the recruitment of students, the development and execution of a robust student recruitment plan, publicity and public relations regarding student recruitment, and the oversight of application criteria for incoming freshmen and transfter students. He/she chairs the committee to evaluate and recommend to the Principal for admission those students who meet the Bishop Dubourg admission criteria. Finally, the Director of Admissions solicits the asistance of faculty, staff, alumni and current students in the overall recruiting efforts of Bishop Dubourg High School.
In coordination with the above stated responsiblities, the Director of Admissions brings energy to the recruitment process, embraces the Bishop Dubourg culture and tradition, and has a thourough understanding of the secondary school admissions process, current trends in admissions, principles of marketing, and the mission and identity of Catholic secondary education. The Director of Admissions shall have experience working with diverse groups of students and parents and posess createve and effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Additionally, the Director of Admissions shall be a person with an active faith life who demonstrates a sense of optimism, loyalty to Bishop Dubourg and the school community, and prayerful support and assistance to all members of the community – students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, benefactors, and friends of the school.
Job Responsibilities
Faith Formation
· Actively engage in school-wide faith initiatives, including all-school Masses, the Faculty/Staff Day of Prayer, and weekly staff prayers and meetings.
· Demonstrate a commitment to Catholic values through respectful and consistent public behavior, language, and actions.
Team Collaboration
· Participate consistently in weekly Advancement Team meetings.
· Foster a collaborative work environment through open, respectful, and timely communication with colleagues and administrators.
· Uphold high standards of professionalism, including appropriate appearance, punctuality, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to support after-hours events when needed.
Recruitment & Enrollment Outreach
· Support the implementation of the school’s Enrollment Management Plan under the direction of the President and Advancement leadership.
· Organize and coordinate logistics for recruitment initiatives, including student shadow days, campus tours, open houses, High School Nights, and Pack the Stands events.
· Oversee scheduling and communications for the Student and Parent Ambassador programs.
· Maintain admissions databases and prepare application materials for review by the Admissions Committee.
· Process student applications and assist with onboarding and enrollment for transfer students.
· Ensure professional and timely communication with prospective families and partner schools.
· Organizing publicity in print and electronic media for all matters pertaining to recruitment, and the “Viewbook” in cooperation with the Director of Communications.
Event Coordination and Facilitation Plan, support, and implement admissions events throughout the year, including but not limited to:
· Shadow Days
· Open House
· High School Nights
· New Student Orientation
· Freshman Registration and Placement Testing
· Welcome Picnic
· Prospective Family Tours
· Cav for a Day
· Incoming Freshman Summer Welcome Camp
· Socials and Recreation Nights
· Additional events as needed
For each event:
· Develop and distribute invitations and promotional materials.
· Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth execution.
· Monitor attendance, gather feedback, prepare post-event reports, and assess outcomes to inform future planning and improvements.
Retention Efforts
· Support student retention initiatives, including communication with current families and organizing programming to enhance student engagement.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in marketing, business, education, or a related field.
· Prior experience in admissions, event planning, or marketing in an educational or nonprofit setting is a plus.
· Strong public speaking and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) and basic database management.
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
· Must be available to work some evenings and weekends for events.
