Job Summary

Holy Redeemer Parish & School is seeking a Full-Time Director or Coordinator of Religious Education 
This position will report to the Pastor 

Job Responsibilities

Holy Redeemer School    

  • Planning and organizing school liturgies
  • Practicing with students in the roles at those liturgies
  • Plan and conduct a class retreat with each class
  • Provide resources for teachers and student for their faith formation
  • Organize Advent and Lent Family retreat nights
  • Provide a sacrament preparation for those who are catching up on Sacraments of Initiation
  • Work with the principal in the school 

    
Holy Redeemer Parish School of Religion 

  • Direct the program
  • Provide formation and guidance for the teachers/catechists
  • Recruit new teachers/catechists
  • Provide resources for teachers and student for their faith formation 
  • Organize Advent and Lent Family retreat nights
  • Provide a sacrament preparation for those who are catching up on Sacraments of Initiation

Sacraments of Initiation

  • Oversee a Program for RCIA for Adults, RCIC for Children, 
  • Oversee the preparation of children for First Holy Communion, Reconciliation and Confirmation for the School, PSR and Home Schooled
  • Work with the music coordinator and pastor for the liturgy of those sacraments
  • Organize retreats for parents and student for Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation
  • Work with the pastor about Sunday Liturgies for each of the three sacraments as parents, students and sponsors are present for those Masses

    
Liturgy of the Word for Children

  • Oversee the program which occurs on Sunday mornings at the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses
  • Recruit volunteers to run the liturgies
  • Provide formation and resources for the volunteers

VBS (Vacation Bible School)

  • Plan the summer program
  • Recruit volunteers to assist in the program
  • Provide instruction and formation to the volunteers
