Job Summary
St. Louis Catholic Academy, a K-8 Catholic elementary school located in St. Louis, MO, seeks applicants for the leadership role of Director of Academics (K-5). The Director of Academics is responsible for the overall educational program, with a specific focus on elementary school aged students. Specific areas of focus include recruitment, supervision, and professional development of teaching staff and curriculum, instruction, and assessment of students. The successful candidate will have a full-time 12 month contract starting July 1, 2025.
Job Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership and Academic Excellence

Lead and support curriculum development, instruction, and assessment for K-5.

Coach and mentor faculty to enhance instructional effectiveness and student outcomes.

Implement data-driven strategies to improve student learning and achievement.

Ensure compliance with accreditation and certification standards.

Assist teachers with classroom management strategies and differentiated instruction.

Facilitate professional development opportunities for teacher growth.
Student Services and Well-being

Oversee student support services, including counseling, discipline, and social-emotional learning.

Lead the K-5 Care Team to coordinate academic and behavioral interventions.

Monitor student attendance and implement strategies to reduce absenteeism.

Develop and enforce school-wide student discipline policies to promote a positive school climate.
Family and Community Engagement

Foster strong relationships with families to support student success.

Plan and lead family engagement activities aligned with the school’s mission.

Serve as a liaison for parent organizations and enhance parent-school collaboration.

Organize student events, enrichment programs, and leadership opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, or a related field.
- Practicing Catholic preferred.
- Minimum five years of teaching experience in an elementary school setting.
- Proven leadership in mentoring teachers and leading instructional improvement.
- Experience in student services, including discipline, counseling, and attendance management.
- Strong ability to analyze data and drive academic improvement.
- Collaborative and committed to fostering a positive school culture.
