Since its founding in 1985, Queen of Peace Center (QOPC) has been providing family-centered behavioral healthcare for women, children, and families. As a member of the Federation of Catholic Charities, we serve the metropolitan and surrounding St. Louis area through four core programs: prevention, education, treatment, and housing.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Donor Engagement Manager is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of QOPC philanthropy, including, but not limited to, donor relationship management, annual campaigns, major giving, events, and planned giving. With the support of the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO), the DEM will help create the annual philanthropy plan and fundraising targets. The assignment of annual goals is based on seven metrics, which include meaningful contacts, qualification, legacy gift qualification, number of solicitations, dollars solicited, dollars raised, and number of gifts closed. Performance will be reviewed in monthly meetings with the CPO. In addition to a direct reporting line to the CPO, the DEM will have a dotted line to the QOPC ministry CEO, Sharon Spruell. The position will be physically located in the QOPC ministry and travel for internal meetings and donor visits as needed when not virtual
OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The DEM is a philanthropy relationship manager responsible for front-line fundraising that results in income needed to operate and meeting specific ministry objectives. Through face-to-face donor visits, events, campaigns, and other fundraising efforts the DEM will be responsible for the management of these objectives. They will interact with the QOPC ministry board of directors, philanthropy committee, ministry leadership team managed by the CEO, and serve on the central ministry office philanthropy leadership team managed by the CPO.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of experience in direct fundraising, sales, prospect management, or a position specific to managing donors or clients.
- Success in building, cultivating, and maintaining donor or customer relationships.
- Demonstratable experience in planning and executing fundraising campaigns.
- Basic understanding of planned giving and legacy gifts.
- The ability to write and communicate effectively.
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology experience.
- Experience working across department lines effectively.
- Drivers license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- The DEM must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- The ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals and entities with the insight in find a connection point with the contributor.
- Must have confidence and the desire to ask for financial support in person, by phone, and through written communication.
- Adapting to change is imperative and being a team player.
- The DEM must be creative, organized, and a strategic thinker.
