Elementary Aide

Job Summary

South City Catholic Academy is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and collaborative Elementary Aide to support classroom teachers and students in our vibrant, faith-based learning community. The aide will work directly with elementary teachers to assist with instruction, supervision, and classroom organization while helping to foster a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in day-to-day instructional and non-instructional duties.

• Provide one-on-one or small group academic support as directed by the teacher.

• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and specials classes.

• Help prepare classroom materials and maintain a clean, organized learning environment.

• Support positive behavior management strategies in alignment with school values.

• Encourage student growth academically, socially, and spiritually.

• Model respect, responsibility, and Catholic values in all interactions.

• Work collaboratively with staff and follow the direction of the classroom teacher and administration.

Job Requirements

• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred

• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

• Patient, flexible, and enthusiastic with a passion for working with young learners

• Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission and values of Catholic education

• Must complete all Safe Environment training and background checks as required by the Archdiocese of St. Louis
