Position Summary
St. Frances Cabrini Academy is seeking a dedicated and mission‑driven ESL Teacher to support English language learners through targeted instruction and skill development. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and who thrives in a collaborative, student‑centered environment.
Position Overview
The ESL Teacher will work closely with classroom teachers to provide small‑group and individualized instruction that reinforces language acquisition and academic skills. Support may be delivered through a pull‑out model, push‑in model, or a combination of both, depending on student needs. The teacher will play a key role in helping students build confidence, develop English proficiency, and succeed across subject areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide small‑group or in‑class (push‑in) instruction to English language learners.
- Deliver supplementary lessons that reinforce vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support language development within core academic instruction.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and instructional plans.
- Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student growth.
- Create a welcoming, supportive environment that values cultural diversity.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school community events.
Qualifications
- State teaching certification required; ESL or TESOL certification preferred.
- Experience working with English language learners or multilingual students is highly valued.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for working with children from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to provide effective instruction in both pull‑out and push‑in settings.
