Job Summary

Our Lady of Pillar, is a Catholic elementary school committed to nurturing students in faith, academics, and service. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated First Grade Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom and foster the spiritual, academic, and social development of young learners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teaching skills, a deep commitment to the Catholic faith, and a love for working with children.

Job Responsibilities

Plan and implement a faith-integrated, developmentally appropriate curriculum in all core subjects (Religion, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies).
Foster a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment rooted in Catholic values and teachings.
Guide students in prayer, liturgical participation, and Christian service.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students.
Assess student progress through a variety of formal and informal assessment tools.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student development, classroom events, and school policies.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to support school-wide goals and initiatives.
Maintain classroom management in accordance with school policies and expectations.
Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-sponsored activities and events.
Model and uphold the moral and ethical teachings of the Catholic Church in word and action.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
State teaching certification or ability to obtain certification.
Catechist certification or willingness to complete religious education training (if required by diocese).
Practicing Catholic in good standing who supports and lives the teachings of the Church (preferred).
Prior classroom teaching experience strongly preferred, especially at the primary level.
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
Commitment to academic excellence and faith formation.
