Job Summary

Our Lady of Pillar, is a Catholic elementary school committed to nurturing students in faith, academics, and service. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated First Grade Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom and foster the spiritual, academic, and social development of young learners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teaching skills, a deep commitment to the Catholic faith, and a love for working with children.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a faith-integrated, developmentally appropriate curriculum in all core subjects (Religion, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies).

  • Foster a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment rooted in Catholic values and teachings.

  • Guide students in prayer, liturgical participation, and Christian service.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students.

  • Assess student progress through a variety of formal and informal assessment tools.

  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student development, classroom events, and school policies.

  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to support school-wide goals and initiatives.

  • Maintain classroom management in accordance with school policies and expectations.

  • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-sponsored activities and events.

  • Model and uphold the moral and ethical teachings of the Catholic Church in word and action.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.

  • State teaching certification or ability to obtain certification.

  • Catechist certification or willingness to complete religious education training (if required by diocese).

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing who supports and lives the teachings of the Church (preferred).

  • Prior classroom teaching experience strongly preferred, especially at the primary level.

  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

  • Commitment to academic excellence and faith formation.
