Job Summary

Cardinal Ritter College Prep, a St. Louis Archdiocesan coeducational college preparatory high school for grades 9-12, seeks a Freshman Seminar Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. We prefer the applicant to be certified in English; however, it is not a criterion for hiring. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to teach in an urban, college preparatory environment, possess strong classroom management, and have a Missouri State Teaching License (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)

Compensation is based on degrees and years of experience, (somewhat negotiable); a comprehensive benefits package

 

Job Responsibilities

Employed person is expected to: 

Articulate and act per the policies, procedures, mission, and vision of the St. Louis Archdiocese and Cardinal Ritter College Preparatory High School.  Properly plan and deliver quality instruction utilizing the Gradual Release Model, formulate assessments to facilitate higher-order thinking, integrate instructional technology in the classroom, and implement project-based learning activities.  Manage and maintain a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning.  Use an online student data system and Google applications.  The curriculum focuses on “7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens” and:

  • Transition and Post-Secondary Planning
  • Preparation and Organization
  • Learning Strategies
  • Note-Taking Strategies
  • Research and Reference Skills
  • Test-Taking Skills
  • Listening and Attention Skills
  • Reading, Writing, and Grammar Skills
  • Digital Literacy and Digital Citizenship
