Job Summary
The Lawn Care Worker is responsible for maintaining the church grounds in a clean, safe, and attractive condition. This includes mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing debris, and performing seasonal landscaping tasks to ensure the exterior of the church reflects the values and hospitality of the parish community.
Job Responsibilities

Mow lawns, trim edges, and maintain flower beds and shrubbery.

Water grass, trees, and other landscaping as needed.

Perform seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, snow removal (if applicable), planting, and mulching.

Remove litter, branches, and debris from church property including playgrounds, parking lots, and walkways.

Maintain landscaping tools and equipment; report any maintenance or repair needs.

Ensure all walkways and entrances are safe and clear of hazards.

Assist with setup or takedown of outdoor events (e.g., church picnics, festivals, processions).

Monitor sprinkler/irrigation systems and report issues.

Work cooperatively with church staff and volunteers.

Adhere to safety guidelines and uphold the mission and values of the church
Job Requirements

Prior experience in lawn care, landscaping, or groundskeeping preferred.

Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers).

Physical ability to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Dependable, punctual, and respectful of church property and purpose.

Commitment to supporting the mission and welcoming environment of the church.

Must pass background check and comply with diocesan safe environment policies (if applicable).
