Job Summary

The Lunch Coordinator supports the administration in the daily operations of the school lunch program. This role ensures a safe, orderly, and positive lunch environment for students by supervising lunch periods, assisting students as needed, coordinating cafeteria clean-up, and managing parent volunteers. The Lunch Coordinator plays an important role in maintaining smooth lunchroom operations during the school day.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the administration with day-to-day lunchroom and cafeteria operations

  • Supervise students during lunch periods to ensure safety, appropriate behavior, and smooth transitions

  • Assist students during lunch time as needed (opening containers, addressing minor issues, providing guidance)

  • Coordinate and oversee cafeteria clean-up procedures

  • Manage, guide, and communicate with parent volunteers assigned to lunch duty

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming cafeteria environment

  • Address minor conflicts or concerns and report issues to administration when necessary

Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move for the duration of the lunch shift

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parent volunteers
