Job Summary
Reports to: Pastor; works closely with Office Manager and School Principal
Type: Non-Exempt, Full time
- Facility Maintenance and Security, in Buildings, Grounds and Parking Areas.
- Assign work when necessary to outside providers.
Job Responsibilities
Facility and Grounds Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and clutter-free facility with clear accountability.

Collaborate with Parish Staff to secure and manage third-party maintenance contracts.

Conduct daily inspections; restock supplies and address facility needs promptly.

Coordinate with contracted janitorial staff to ensure campus cleanliness.

Schedule, oversee, and follow up on third-party maintenance, repairs, and custodial services.

Develop and implement standard operating procedures and maintenance checklists.

Operate HVAC systems and other building controls as key facility operator.

Train new employees and volunteers on facility orientation and use.

Supervise routine grounds maintenance; perform groundskeeping as required.
Security

Manage and operate the facility’s security system.

Maintain an accurate and up-to-date key-logging and access control system.

Ensure the facility, including rooms and Church, is properly opened and locked daily.
Safety
-
Provide safety training and education to staff and parishioners.

Regularly update and maintain safety procedures.

Coordinate safety efforts with the Diocesan risk manager.
General Duties
-
Maintain warranty records and asset management databases.

Submit weekly operational summaries and schedules.

Coordinate room setups and teardowns in partnership with parish staff and volunteers.

Perform other duties as assigned within the scope and timeline of the position.
Additional Maintenance Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and repair of parish and school facilities.

Performs a variety of facility and equipment maintenance duties.

May perform various routine maintenance and repairs including routine carpentry and plumbing duties based on skill level and experience.

Help with a variety of installation, repair and renovation to buildings including but not limited to electrical fixtures and switches, and semi-skilled tasks in construction, repair and maintenance of wooden structures and articles.

Installation, repair and renovation of some equipment including metal and wood equipment, electrical appliances, valves, gas stoves, hot water heaters, sinks, commodes, hand basins, kitchen appliances, heating and cooling systems, sewer lines, irrigation sprinklers.

Removing of snow and ice from roadways, parking lots, ramps, and walkways. Misc. items from buildings.

Performs routine mechanical equipment maintenance.

Be responsible for all equipment, vehicles, tools, and other equipment.

Assist other areas related to overall maintenance of the system when assigned.

The above does not exhaust duties. Other duties may be requested from time to time through the immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Facilities, grounds and general maintenance experience PC skills
- Ability to document policies and procedures
- Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to self-motivate, manage tasks and work independently with a minimal of supervision
- Driver’s license
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with staff and volunteers
- Ability to develop and maintain effective record-keeping and facilities management records
- Ability to supervise contract workers
- Ability to research 3rd party services and organize a summary with recommendations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings on an as-needed basis
- Experience with plant management and HVAC systems preferred.
Work Schedule
- Work will take place Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, unless adjusted by Pastor.
- Schedule will be adjusted to consider significant parish events.
