Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance of Regina Cleri’s buildings and grounds, while providing support and upkeep to ensure a comfortable living environment for the resident priests, including assistance with maintenance-related needs and reasonable requests.

 
 
 

Job Responsibilities

I. Maintain the buildings and grounds at Regina Cleri for the comfort and security of the Priests and Staff.

 

1. Maintains/oversees work on

▪ boilers, air conditioners

▪ kitchen machinery/equipment

▪ laundry machinery/equipment

▪ plumbing

▪ television repair, phone repair

 

2. Maintenance needed in all the rooms

▪ plumbing

▪ window and blinds repair

▪ light bulb changes, lamp repair

▪ painting

▪ carpet cleaning, floor waxing

▪ innumerable small maintenance jobs

 

3. Remodeling of apartments

▪ ceiling fans

▪ toilets

▪ upjohns

▪ vanities/faucet

▪ countertops/sinks/disposals/faucets

▪ paint

▪ carpet removal

 

4. Moves/unloads shipments, furniture, etc.

▪ helps priest residents move in / out

 

5. Care of grounds

▪ lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers

▪ snow removal

▪ parking lot

▪ trash removal

▪ maintenance shop, store room/s

Job Requirements

Overall knowledge of building and machinery maintenance

Knowledge of electrical and plumbing repairs helpful

Experience in caring for apartment or similar building/s valuable

 

Skills and Attitudes Required for Success in Job

Ability to take directions/receive information from the administrator

Ability to consistently use ladders, equipment and tools to come maintenance duties

Ability to work with others, especially staff involved in the upkeep of the residence

Ability to care for an emergency situation

Able to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 lbs throughout the shift

Skill to some degree with electricity, plumbing, painting, and gardening,

as well as some automobile-care skills

Ability to keep confidential information, confidential and to avoid gossip

 

Relationships Requirements

Works collaboratively with the Supervisor of Archdiocesan Buildings for major concerns

about the building

Contacts and oversees specialized maintenance repairs of the building from outside

companies

Is available to assist the various inspectors who check out Regina Cleri equipment

Confers with the Administrator for any specific duties of the day

Assigns and oversees the duties of assistant maintenance personnel

 

Resources for Which Accountable

Operates within the budget for building maintenance

Provides for maintenance needs of the building and retired or recuperating residents

Purchases needed materials and equipment for building repairs
