Job Summary

St. Lucy Parish is seeking a mission-driven and detail-oriented Business Manager to oversee the administrative, financial, and operational functions of the parish. Working closely with the Pastor, this individual plays a key leadership role in supporting the spiritual and temporal mission of the parish through effective management of finances, human resources, facilities, and parish operations.

 

Job Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Prepare, oversee, and manage the annual parish and school budgets in collaboration with the Pastor and Finance Council

  • Maintain accurate financial records, oversee bookkeeping, and ensure timely reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Process payroll and manage accounts payable and receivable

  • Ensure compliance with Archdiocesan financial policies, internal controls, and external audit requirements

  • Oversee stewardship and offertory processing, and support fundraising efforts

Human Resources

  • Manage HR functions including hiring, onboarding, employee records, and benefits administration

  • Ensure compliance with Archdiocesan HR policies and Safe Environment requirements

  • Supervise administrative and support staff

Facilities & Operations

  • Coordinate maintenance, repair, and usage of parish facilities and equipment

  • Oversee vendor contracts, insurance coverage, and risk management procedures

  • Manage inventory, supplies, and general office operations

Administrative Leadership

  • Serve as a key member of the parish leadership team and support strategic planning and communication

  • Attend parish council, finance council, and staff meetings as needed

  • Work collaboratively with school administration if applicable

Job Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong commitment to the mission of the Church

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in business or nonprofit management, preferably in a parish or school setting

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and general accounting software

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information with discretion, and manage multiple priorities
