Job Summary
The Marriage & Family Apostolate Childcare Coordinator is responsible for organizing, managing, and supervising a safe and engaging childcare environment during evening programs and events for parents involved in the Marriage & Family Apostolate. This position ensures that all childcare operations reflect the teachings and values of the Catholic Church and provides a positive, nurturing atmosphere for children.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate childcare coverage by scheduling qualified staff and/or volunteers for all Marriage & Family Apostolate evening events.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate, faith-aligned activities for children during childcare hours.
- Collect and maintain necessary documentation, including registration forms and emergency contact information, for all children utilizing childcare services.
- Ensure the physical environment is safe, clean, and returned to proper order following each session.
- Consistently use words and actions that clearly give witness to Gospel values and demonstrate living out the teachings of Jesus Christ. Give witness to Catholic values and adhere to the teachings of the Catholic Church through practices in life and work.
Job Requirements
● Minimum of one (1) year experience working with children in a structured setting
● General knowledge of the Catholic Church, Catholic sacraments, rites, and liturgies.
● Obtain and maintain current adult, child, and infant CPR and First Aid Certification.
● Good physical health, confirmed by a physician’s statement, with up-to-date immunizations.
● Completion of the Archdiocese Safe Environment Program.
● Strong written and oral communication skills.
● Ability to lead with patience, compassion, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
