Job Title: Full‑Time Middle School Science/Religion Teacher-6th Grade Focus
Location: St. Clement of Rome Catholic School – St. Louis, MO

 

Position Summary

St. Clement of Rome Catholic School is seeking a faith‑filled, knowledgeable, and mission‑driven Full‑Time Middle School Science/Religion Teacher with 6th grade focus to join our faculty. This unique role combines rigorous academic instruction in science with meaningful formation in the Catholic faith. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong content knowledge, a passion for middle school education, and a commitment to helping students grow academically, spiritually, and personally within a supportive Catholic environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in both science and religion aligned with school and Archdiocesan curriculum standards.
  • Create a structured, respectful, and faith‑centered classroom environment that promotes inquiry, critical thinking, and spiritual growth.
  • Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily lessons, discussions, and classroom culture.
  • Design hands‑on labs, demonstrations, and project‑based learning experiences that support scientific understanding.
  • Assess student progress using a variety of tools and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, grades, and student documentation.
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.
  • Collaborate with the middle school team on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and school initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and schoolwide events.
  • Model Catholic values and contribute positively to the spiritual life of the school community.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, Theology, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid Missouri teaching certification or eligibility for certification.
  • Experience teaching middle school students or working with adolescents.
  • Strong understanding of science content, Catholic theology, and effective instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom‑management skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Must meet Archdiocesan compliance requirements, including Safe Environment training.
