Job Summary

The Morning Care Aide plays an important role in providing a safe, calm, and welcoming environment for students before the start of the school day. This position is responsible for supervising students, facilitating quiet activities, and ensuring a smooth transition into the school day. The Morning Care Aide serves as a positive role model, reflecting the Catholic values and mission of the school.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students during morning care hours.

  • Greet students and families in a warm, professional manner.

  • Monitor student behavior and promote respectful and kind interactions.

  • Provide age-appropriate activities such as reading, drawing, or quiet games.

  • Maintain a calm and structured environment that prepares students for the school day.

  • Ensure a smooth handoff to teachers or classroom aides at the start of the school day.

  • Follow school safety procedures and report any concerns to school leadership.

  • Maintain accurate attendance records.

  • Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and administration.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience working with children in a school, daycare, or church setting preferred.

  • Ability to manage groups of children calmly and effectively.

  • Friendly, dependable, and patient demeanor.

  • Practicing Catholic preferred; non-Catholics must be respectful and supportive of the school’s Catholic mission.

  • Ability to work early morning hours consistently.

  • Supervision may take place indoors or outdoors depending on weather.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and interact with children during the shift.
