Job Summary

The PSR Teacher plays a vital role in guiding students in their faith formation and understanding of Catholic teachings. This position involves planning and delivering engaging religious education lessons, fostering a supportive classroom environment, and helping students deepen their relationship with God. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and teach weekly religious education lessons in accordance with parish guidelines and curriculum.

  • Foster a respectful, faith-centered classroom environment that encourages participation and spiritual growth.

  • Incorporate Scripture, prayer, and Catholic traditions into lessons.

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and upcoming activities.

  • Attend required parish meetings, training sessions, and faith formation events.

Job Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.

  • Strong knowledge of Catholic teachings, traditions, and liturgy.

  • Previous teaching or catechetical experience preferred, but not required.

  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to the parish’s mission and to nurturing students’ faith.
