Job Summary

The School Aide provides support to teachers, administrators, and students to ensure a safe, organized, and effective learning environment. Duties may include supervising students, assisting in the classroom, supporting office tasks, and helping maintain school routines. The aide serves as a reliable presence and plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the school.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with classroom activities, materials preparation, and student support.

  • Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival/dismissal.

  • Support students with individual needs as directed (e.g., helping with assignments, organization, behavior support).

  • Monitor student behavior and report concerns to the appropriate staff.

  • Perform clerical tasks such as photocopying, filing, distributing materials, and other office support.

  • Help maintain a clean and organized classroom or school environment.

  • Accompany students to special classes (e.g., PE, art, music) or assist with transitions between classes.

  • Maintain confidentiality of student information at all times.

  • Carry out other duties as assigned by teachers or administrators.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Prior experience working with children in a school or childcare setting preferred.

  • Patience, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with staff and faculty.

  • Must pass background checks and meet local/state requirements for school employment.
