Job Summary

Do you have a heart for moms and babies? Good Shepherd Children & Family Services is looking for caring, dedicated women to join our Maternity Shelter & Transitional Living Program, which provides intensive, 24-hour care for teen and young adult moms and their babies facing homelessness.

Job Responsibilities

We have an immediate need for the overnight shifts. Weekends, and evening shifts are also available. Full, Part time and on call schedules are available. This position is responsible for day-to-day care and oversight of residents and their babies, facilitation of daily activities, and individual coaching of young mothers. The position requires not merely a heart for children and families, but also an attitude of respect, collaboration, and commitment to our strength-based, family-centered treatment model. The safety and well-being of mothers and babies is our first concern, so the work requires unwavering commitment and the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

Job Requirements

Candidates for the Parenting Specialist position should have previous experience working with children and families; they should demonstrate good judgment and the capacity for independent decision making, as well as the ability to provide creative and engaging activities for residents. General requirements include a minimum age of 21 years and a High School Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of experience in a related field are preferred but not required.

We are needing PRN for the following shiftsFriday and Saturday Evening (3pm-11pm) OR Saturday & Sunday Morning (7am-3pm)

Pre-Employment Screening 
All candidates receiving an employment offer must submit a pre-employment screening. The screenings will include criminal background check and other background checks (as needed), Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, an employment and education or licensure/certification verification, and Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination. Various positions will require physical examination, Tuberculosis screening and Hepatitis A. All offers are contingent upon successful completion of required screening.
