Job Summary
Epiphany of Our Lord Church, a vibrant parish within the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Parish Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all payroll-related functions for parish staff. The Payroll Manager will ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with Archdiocesan policies and federal/state regulations. This role is key to maintaining financial integrity and supporting a smooth operation of parish administrative functions.
Job Responsibilities

Process biweekly payroll for all parish employees using Archdiocesan payroll systems.

Maintain accurate employee records, including timekeeping, tax forms, benefits, and deductions.

Coordinate new hire onboarding, including gathering and submitting required documentation for payroll setup.

Serve as the primary liaison between the parish and the Archdiocese’s Payroll and Human Resources departments.

Ensure all payroll transactions are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Archdiocesan guidelines.

Address and resolve any payroll-related inquiries or discrepancies.

Manage PTO accruals, holiday pay, and other payroll-related benefits tracking.

Assist with annual budget preparation related to salaries and payroll expenses.

Prepare and distribute payroll reports for parish leadership and for annual audits as required.

Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll and personnel data.
Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration or bookkeeping, preferably in a nonprofit or religious setting.

Familiarity with payroll systems and accounting software (e.g., Paycor, ADP, QuickBooks, or similar platforms).

Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with staff and leadership with discretion and professionalism.
