Job Summary
St. Catherine Laboure Parish, a vibrant Catholic community within the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking a faith-filled, organized, and enthusiastic Part-Time Religious Education Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting parish religious education programs for children and youth, including Parish School of Religion (PSR), sacramental preparation, and volunteer catechist coordination. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Catholic faith formation and committed to nurturing the spiritual development of children and families in alignment with Church teachings.
Job Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the Parish School of Religion (PSR) program for children in grades 1–8 not attending Catholic school

Collaborate with the Pastor and parish staff to plan and implement sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation

Recruit, train, and support volunteer catechists and aides

Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and sacramental documentation

Order and manage curriculum materials in accordance with Archdiocesan guidelines

Communicate regularly with parents, catechists, and parish staff through newsletters, meetings, and digital platforms

Ensure compliance with Safe Environment policies, including volunteer training and background checks

Assist with parish events related to faith formation and family engagement

Attend Archdiocesan meetings and trainings as needed
Job Requirements

Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong commitment to Church teachings

Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience in parish ministry)

Previous experience in religious education or faith formation strongly preferred

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Proficient with email, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and basic database management

Ability to work independently while collaborating with clergy and parish staff

Completion of (or willingness to complete) Archdiocese of St. Louis Safe Environment requirements
