Job Summary

Epiphany of Our Lord Parish and St. James the Greater Parish are looking for a team player with a desire to help evangelize an area of the city with lots of young adults and families, most of whom are solidly secular and/or “spiritual but not religious."

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and run the Parish’s Alpha Program (2 Sessions each year, spring and fall)
  • Coordinate Children Sacramental Preparation Program for parishes
    • Baptism
    • First Reconciliation & First Communion
    • Coordinate Parish Confirmation preparation Program.
  • Coordinate Children’s Ministries, including
    • 252 Kids (K - 5th Grade)
    • XP3 (for middle and high school kids
    • Vacation Bible School
  • Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers to support these and other family ministries.
  • Manage the design, programming, and communication regarding children and family ministries.
  • Write regular content for parish communication with ministry updates, testimonials and news.
  • Work with the Director of Administration and Generosity to set project budgets and program
    benchmarks.
  • Help develop strategies for parish outreach to young families, including ways to get young
    families involved in parish life.

Job Requirements

An effective Family Ministry Coordinator must engage in relational ministry with parents, children, and teens of the parish to assist in the formation of families in the Catholic faith. This coordinator should pay attention to family circumstances, understand the home as a setting for spiritual formation, and provide relevant and intentional ministry for all families to help them grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
