    Compensation: $3,500 per session/season

 

Position Overview:

The Performance Coordinator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing performance training programs for Cardinal Ritter’s basketball and baseball programs. This role is essential in developing strength, speed, agility, endurance, and injury resilience in athletes while promoting a championship mindset and culture. Each session (season) is compensated at $3,500, recognizing the importance of this role in building and sustaining elite athletic performance.

The Performance Coordinator ensures that athletes are not only physically equipped to compete at a high level but are also less susceptible to injuries and better prepared to meet the demands of their sport. This role enhances athlete development, promotes long-term health, and contributes directly to competitive success.

Job Responsibilities

Program Development & Implementation

  • Create seasonal training programs tailored for basketball and baseball athletes.
  • Conduct evaluations and adjust workouts based on athlete progress and team needs.
  • Integrate strength, agility, speed, and endurance work that aligns with sport-specific requirements.

Strength & Conditioning

  • Oversee in-season and off-season strength sessions.
  • Ensure proper technique and safe use of equipment.
  • Emphasize injury prevention and movement quality.

Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate with head coaches and athletic trainers to ensure holistic athlete development.
  • Attend practices/games when necessary to observe movement patterns and provide feedback.

Athlete Education & Mentorship

  • Teach athletes about recovery, nutrition, hydration, and mental focus.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, reinforcing discipline and accountability.

Administrative Duties

    • Keep accurate attendance and performance records.
    • Maintain and organize training facilities and equipment.
    • Communicate scheduling and expectations to student-athletes and coaching staff.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field (preferred).
  • National certification (e.g., CSCS, NASM, ACE, or equivalent).
  • Previous experience training athletes, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • CPR/First Aid certified.
