Position Summary
Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church is seeking a reliable and professional Part‑Time Secretary to support the daily operations of the parish office. This position serves as a welcoming presence for parishioners and visitors, provides administrative support to the pastor and staff, and ensures that office functions are carried out efficiently and respectfully. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, and committed to supporting the mission and ministry of the parish.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for parishioners, visitors, and callers, offering courteous and helpful assistance.
- Manage incoming phone calls, emails, and general parish correspondence.
- Maintain parish records, files, and databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and use of parish facilities.
- Prepare and distribute parish communications, including bulletins, announcements, and mailings.
- Provide administrative support to the pastor and parish staff as needed.
- Coordinate sacramental recordkeeping and assist with preparation of certificates and documentation.
- Maintain office supplies and ensure the workspace remains organized and welcoming.
- Uphold professionalism and respect while working in a parish environment.
Qualifications
- Previous administrative or office experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
- Proficiency with basic office software, email, and database systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently.
- High level of accuracy, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
