Job Summary

The Singer serves an important role in leading and inspiring the prayer during Catholic liturgies. This position involves performing responsorial psalms, hymns, and other liturgical music with clarity, reverence, and confidence. Working closely with the music director and clergy, the cantor helps create a worship environment that supports active participation and deepens the spiritual experience of the congregation. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead congregational singing and psalms during Mass and other services.

  • Collaborate with the music director, choir, and clergy on song selection.

  • Attend rehearsals and prepare assigned music in advance.

  • Support the prayerful atmosphere by singing with reverence and clarity.

  • Participate in special liturgical celebrations, weddings, and funerals as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Strong vocal ability and clear diction.

  • Familiarity with liturgical music and Catholic worship traditions.

  • Ability to read music; basic accompaniment skills a plus.

  • Reliability for scheduled services, rehearsals, and special events.

  • Professional and respectful demeanor during services.
