Job Summary

Job Title: Social Service Intake Coordinator
Agency: Cardinal Ritter Senior Services
Reports To: Social Services Manager
Salary Range: $40,000–$45,000 annually

 

Position Summary:
The Social Service Intake Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting older adults and individuals with chronic illnesses by facilitating access to resources and services. This position handles intake requests, assesses client needs, determines program eligibility, and coordinates referrals to community agencies. The coordinator also manages departmental correspondence, recordkeeping, and grant reporting, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with funding requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to intake inquiries via phone, mail, and in-person; distribute resource materials and complete intake documentation.
  • Maintain client data in Excel and Apricot systems.
  • Track and report on grant balances and expenditures; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual funding reports.
  • Assist clients, families, and caregivers in navigating health, social, and environmental challenges impacting independent living.
  • Order departmental supplies and maintain organized files for grants and client records.
  • Identify eligible clients for emergency utility assistance programs and coordinate with utility providers.
  • Support seasonal initiatives such as the 100 Neediest Cases campaign.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Social Services Manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Work, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business administration with accounting or recordkeeping responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in social services and working with senior adults preferred.

 

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with seniors and professionals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows; willing to learn specialized software (e.g., Apricot).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and math skills for grant tracking and reporting.
  • Knowledge of community resources and agency programs.
  • Professional phone etiquette and ability to triage calls effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.

 

Working Relationships:
Daily interaction with Social Services staff, agency personnel, and external professionals. Provides client support primarily via phone, with occasional in-person engagement. Must uphold the agency’s mission and core values of Love, Compassion, Hope, and Integrity.

 

Client Impact:
Serves individuals aged 60+ experiencing challenges related to aging and independent living. Responsible for managing departmental resources with efficiency and respect. This position does not supervise other employees.
