St. Patrick Center provides opportunities for self-sufficiency and dignity to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Individuals and families build permanent, positive change in their lives through safe and affordable housing, sound mental and physical health, and employment and financial stability. 

Working collaboratively with individuals, businesses, government and other service providers, St. Patrick Center will end chronic homelessness in the St. Louis region through Housing First, an evidence-based practice that tells us to remove barriers, do intake and assessment early, move people into housing and offer them support to achieve their goals. 

Position Summary

St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities, is hiring a Special Events Coordinator to organize various fundraising events, including the Irish Open Gala & Golf Tournament and Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk. This position, reporting to the Director of Philanthropy Operations, encompasses managing event logistics, fostering relationships with sponsors and volunteers, and ensuring financial targets are met. We are looking for someone with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The core working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. 

Overview and Responsibilities

•    Coordinate special events from completion to follow up, achieving budgeted goals

•    Empower event committee members to take on leadership roles, solicit sponsorships, recruit supporters, sell tables/registrations and garner support for St. Patrick Center

•    Keep the mission of St. Patrick Center as the focal point of special events and when working with committee members, donors and volunteers

•    Maintain existing donor, volunteer and corporate relationships as directed

•    Coordinate planning and logistics for special events

•    Create and follow event timelines and milestones

•    Closely track revenue and expenses for assigned events

•    Lead team so that financial and participant goals for special events are met

•    Assist with donor stewardship and cultivation

•    Promote St. Patrick Center and advocate for our clients in a variety of ways

•    Implement volunteer and donor engagement strategies

•    Promote events by writing copy for email marketing and working with database in pulling distribution lists

•    Evening and weekend event commitments as required

•    Work with communications team on creating promotional material

•    Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Experience Required

•    Bachelor’s degree

•    Experience in non-profit fundraising, event planning, and working with volunteers

•    Working knowledge of donor stewardship techniques, budgets, and event best-practices

•    Experience working in RaisersEdge NXT or similar database

Skills and Competencies Required

•    Ability to adapt and adjust to new ideas and initiatives

•    Strong communication and time-management skills

•    Proficient with Microsoft Office

•    Superior organizational skills required

•    Ability to work independently and be a strong team member

•    Ability to lift 30-50 pounds and stand for long periods of time when working events
