Job Summary

Christ the King is seeking qualified and reliable Substitute Teachers to support our students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining a positive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that reflects the mission and values of a Catholic education. This role ensures continuity of learning by implementing lesson plans and upholding classroom routines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise students and manage classroom behavior in a manner consistent with school policies and Catholic values.

  • Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure consistent instruction.

  • Adapt and adjust teaching methods as needed to support student understanding and participation.

  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student needs, attendance, or classroom concerns.

  • Support the spiritual and moral development of students by modeling Christian values and respect for Catholic teachings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to pass a background check and all child protection clearances as required by the Diocese and state law.

  • Strong classroom management skills.

  • Respect for the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.

  • Professional demeanor and dependability.
