Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher at Annunziata serves as a vital part of the educational team by providing continuity of instruction, supervision, and classroom management in the absence of the regular teacher. The substitute is expected to uphold and support the Catholic identity, values, and mission of the school, ensuring a safe, respectful, and faith-filled environment for students.
Job Responsibilities

Follow lesson plans left by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.

Maintain classroom routines, procedures, and expectations established by the school and regular teacher.

Supervise students in the classroom and during transitions such as recess, lunch, or dismissal.

Communicate clearly and effectively with students and staff.

Manage student behavior in accordance with school guidelines and discipline policies.

Leave a written summary or feedback for the returning teacher regarding the day’s events.

Incorporate Catholic values and respectful behavior into classroom interactions.

Ensure a safe and respectful classroom environment at all times.

Report any accidents, incidents, or concerns to the school administration promptly.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Job Requirements

Teaching credential or experience in education preferred.

Practicing Catholic preferred, or respectful of the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church.

Previous experience working with children or youth in a school or ministry setting.

Ability to manage a classroom and maintain student engagement.

Must complete background check and diocesan Safe Environment training (e.g., VIRTUS or equivalent).
