Job Summary:
St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, a vibrant Catholic community in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, safety, and functionality of parish and school buildings and grounds. The Maintenance Technician will perform a wide range of tasks including routine maintenance, basic repairs, janitorial duties, and seasonal upkeep to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all who visit or work on campus.
Job Responsibilities
General Maintenance & Repairs

Perform routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems.

Complete minor repairs on building structures, fixtures, and equipment.

Identify and report issues requiring external contractors or specialized repair.
Custodial Duties

Assist with cleaning tasks in buildings and restrooms as needed.

Ensure common areas, classrooms, hallways, and worship spaces are clean and orderly.

Manage trash removal, recycling, and basic pest control.
Grounds & Seasonal Maintenance

Maintain outdoor grounds including mowing, trimming, snow removal, and de-icing of walkways.

Set up and tear down for parish and school events, including moving furniture, equipment, and supplies.
Safety & Compliance

Monitor facilities for safety hazards and make corrections as necessary.

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Archdiocesan and local safety policies.

Maintain tools, supplies, and maintenance records in an organized and secure manner.
Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in building maintenance, facility management, or skilled trades preferred.

General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and janitorial practices.

Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor in varying weather conditions.

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Must be able to pass a background check and complete all Archdiocese of St. Louis Safe Environment requirements.
