St. Patrick Center provides opportunities for self-sufficiency and dignity to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Individuals and families build permanent, positive change in their lives through safe and affordable housing, sound mental and physical health, and employment and financial stability.
Working collaboratively with individuals, businesses, government and other service providers, St. Patrick Center will end chronic homelessness in the St. Louis region through Housing First, an evidence-based practice that tells us to remove barriers, do intake and assessment early, move people into housing and offer them support to achieve their goals.
Position Summary
St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities, is hiring a Weekend Greeter to welcome participants of the Shamrock Club program. We are seeking an individual who understands the barriers of mental illness, is familiar with resources in the surrounding areas, and can foster a sense of community with anyone who enters the building. This position is not eligible for benefits, and works a maximum of 19 hours per week. The working hours are Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Overview and Responsibilities
• Monitor program entrance to ensure that only program participants are allowed in building
• Participate/monitor weekend/holiday activities of Shamrock Club
• Ensure that only program members are allowed to enter Shamrock Club
• Offer general assistance in Shamrock Club as needed
• Facilitate completion of client laundry and kitchen laundry, coordinate with Laundry Aide
• Monitor, inventory, and safeguard all program supplies.
• Provide supplies to program participants as needed.
• Respect client confidentiality and support staff in crisis situations
• Respect and be responsible for agency policy regarding work hours, building security and all written personnel standards
• Ensure the care model by interacting with all other St. Patrick Center programs
• Coordinate referral from Welcome Center
• Chair AA/NA meetings as needed
• Facilitate drug and alcohol education groups as needed
• Keep all paper data current
• Respect client confidentiality
• Respect and be responsible for agency policy regarding work hours, building security and all written personnel standards
• Ensure the care model by interacting with all other St. Patrick Center programs
• Develop therapeutic relationship with clients
• Support staff in crisis situations
• Assist with clients in crisis
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of chemical dependency and mental illness
• Knowledge of area resources

Pre-Employment Screening
