Job Summary

Job Title: Part-Time Catholic Youth Group Minister

Location: Mary Mother of the Church, St. Louis, Missouri

Hours: 20 hours per week, depending on parish needs

Reports to: Director of Religious Education (ultimately accountable to the Pastor)

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead regular youth group gatherings (weekly or biweekly), including worship, faith formation, social events, and service.
  • Foster a welcoming, safe, and Christ-centered environment for youth.
  • Coordinate youth participation in parish events, diocesan retreats (such as Steubenville) and service—charitable work, pro-life and social justice work, based on Catholic Church teachings
  • Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers and peer leaders.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Religious Education, parish staff, and families to integrate youth ministry into the life of the parish.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, youth, and the parish community using email, social media, and parish bulletin.
  • Maintain records of attendance, permission forms, and service hours as needed.
  • Actively recruit students to participate in the youth program, including making intentional outreach to those recently Confirmed, and with the support of the DRE, work with the volunteers to implement a quarterly middle school ministry.
