Job Summary
The Second Grade Teacher is responsible for providing academic instruction and faith formation in alignment with the teachings of the Catholic Church
Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons in core subjects: Religion, Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies.

Prepare students for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in coordination with parish and school staff.

Integrate Catholic values, scripture, and Church teachings into daily instruction and classroom culture.

Create a nurturing, disciplined, and faith-filled environment that promotes learning and moral development.

Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and abilities.

Use a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress and guide instruction.

Maintain open and consistent communication with parents regarding academic progress, behavior, and faith development.

Collaborate with school staff and administration to support school initiatives and events.

Participate actively in school Masses, religious celebrations, and professional development.

Maintain accurate records including grades, attendance, and progress reports.
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field (required).

Valid teaching license or certification (state-specific) or eligibility to obtain one.

Practicing Catholic in good standing (required), with knowledge of and commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Experience in preparing children for sacraments (preferred).

Classroom teaching experience at the elementary level (preferred).

Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a faith-based community.
